you must charm him every day, until you have charmed him away
If anybody can tell me who said that, in what they said it and what they were referring to...I will give you a cookie. No, seriously. I will personally give you a cookie the next time I see you.
Today I got the results of my grammar test back -- turns out Looije did good: I scored higher than the class average by 30%. AND i was having a bad day, and couldn't remember half the stuff. I also took my quiz on Frankenstein -- and once again beat the class average by somewhere around 40%. Have I mentioned that I love Lit? No? I love literature, folks.
I just today got into a "Collegium" -- the Douglas collegium -- which is essentially a commuters residence. There are big fluffy pillows and blankets, and chairs and an absolutely fantastic kitchen that is all brand new and stainless steel and dark wood. and stone. Lots of stone.
The couches in the "loud" part are nice -- right by the fireplace -- and sitting by the wall of windows in the quiet area is sooo pleasant. Because the chairs are big and gushy.
Hey. I'm paying 15,000 to attend this school. So you can feel a little better.
I also visited the library for the first time ever. I took out three --four? I can't remember -- books. Nihilism before Neitchze, Engines of the soul, Descartes Dualism and I'm SURE there is one more. Oh right. The Princess and the Philosopher. All on Descartes, all on dualism, all for my philosophy term paper.
Last week was (in a word) sucky. I was tired, irritable and desperately out of place in a school full of people who knew what they were doing. This week i'm still out of place, it just doesn't bother me so much. I'm still tired -- definitely still irritable, but I've ALSO realized that NOBODY knows what they're doing.
and if they SAY they do? They lied.
Anyhow. Tonight...I'm going to read harry potter and go to bed early. :D
Sometimes...life is good.
