I hear the people sing
Singing the songs of angry men, in fact. It is a music of a people who will not be slaves again...
So tickets for Les Miserables are officially reserved: Friday November 12th at 8pm, we will be there. Thrilling, no?
I just finished reading Alias Grace, which i was rather dissapointed in. I dunno (and here are some spoilers) I sort of figured that she was possessed by Mary Whitney from the start. I mean, hence the name alias grace. but still. it was pretty good, and i wouldn't say that it was a waste of time. Not REALLY.
I'm currently working on a paper which talks about how Dickens is merely a mirror image of the moderns, and how A Christmas Carol is a reflection of that. I'm also working on my Philosophy term paper, and have to read large chunks of John Locke so i can write a response. Speaking of responses, my polisci TA is an ass, and has graded all the smart kids really poorly. It seems that if you state any sort of opinion in your ONE PAGE RESPONSE that isn't qualified by an eight billion page paper...your marks get docked.
That's not to say that I'm one of the smart kids. I'd like to think that, but realism teaches me otherwise. I'm not one of the DUMB ones...so I'm in the middle. Anyhow. It seems to me that the smarter you are the lower your grade. I'm annoyed on behalf of the smart kids (and me who wants a better grade).
Suuuure. Righteous anger...
umm.
I love my new laptop. It's like having another sister who doesn't talk back or have bad days. My laptop loves me unconditionally. : P
I think that's it for now. I've been laid low by a cold, which comes and goes in waves and is driving me to both distraction and exhaustion. I wasn't at school on tuesday, but am feeling much better today.
On campus everyone has huge bags under their eyes and they walk around in a daze.
Ah. Midterms.
Ta!
