Work Tales
1) This lady comes in and is totally talking monotone. She's just rattling off the things that she wants, and I have to intterupt her to ask her what bread she wants her sandwhich on. Well, she stops and looks at me as though I've just completely thrown her off and now she'll never be able to remember anything, and how dare I? She says she wants it on a 'big' sandwhich. No problem-o. Well, the bill comes to 10 dollars or so, and she complains. I explain the bill to her. She says "oh, the meal-deal doesn't come with the BIG sandwhich?" I say no. She says "oh, then I only want a little one". Some people are stupid.
2) This woman comes in on one particular day. Our interac is down. There are HUGE pink signs up that say so. She doesn't notice them. She gets to the front of the line and says 'why isn't is working'? The girl on till goes "I don't know" (and why would she?) Well, the Soccer Mom from Hell says that this isn't good service and if she could just hold her place in line. The girl on till says "aaahhh no, sorry, you can't." The SMFH grunts and moves off to get cash. She comes back and stands in line, and then yells at the girl on till. Then proceeds to yell at me. I didn't do anything. It's not MY fault she's angry. I oonly made coffee. Well, then she moves to the next person who is the manager. I am rather angry at her by now, because she blames me for things I couldn't help. The day passes, and the next day comes, and I'm SURE she expects that I don't recognize her but I do. I don't CARE what our policy says -we do NOT depend on her, and she doesn't get a warm smile and friendly service.
What I learned that day: If you're really mean to someone on till/a waitress - they will remember.
I've run out of stories that are just "right there". SO...I'm going. Ow. Hey - to K who is at the CDIS program - have fun and good luck! If there is anybody who will succeed - it's you. ^_^
