Alive

Ok. so, i've not *really* MOVED into my new house-- i'm still living with jake's family, as i cannot as of yet afford rent AND food. The house is a bit of a hole -- it's being 'remodeled'-- but as far as student living conditions go, it's nice. I have a REAL backyard.
I have a second interview with the keg on saturday, and my interview on...tuesday was a little slice of hell all spiced up so i could choke on it as i sat in the room i like to call the furnace. Right now, I'm tired and ornery, and unemployed.

See, there is no work to be found in kingston. EVERYBODY i have talked to has told me that there is no work to be found in kingston, and the work that there is is almost impossible to get unless you *know somebody*. I'm reaching the wire here.

BUT I'll make more attempts to really, earnestly update. For any of you who still love me. : P

And vanessa? If you're still around, don't read the DaVinci code. Wait for the movie. It'll have Tom Hanks. The book was one of the most poorly written pieces of crap I have ever read. Read Wicked instead. Or...The time Travelers wife. OR..the godfather. I give those my hearty endorsement. :D

(the weather is really sucking right now, which is why i am ornery.)

You liked Wicked? I got pissed off halfway through because I'm a loyal fan of Baum's original. The thing about the world of Oz is that unlike other stories, it is not part of a fairy tale but an actual novel. And UGH. Wicked pissed me off because it was based on the play/movie.

(grumble grumble) You could try applying to the Queen's bookstore now for fall with your schedule. That'd be an awesome job ;)

Didn't the book inspire the musical? That's what the cover says....but i did love it. And DeRaad turned me off of the "original" WoO with all that stuff about the gold standard.
I don't know WHY i loved it so much...it just really resonated with me...meh. I'm going up against the devil's advocate next, i think.

No, it seems I'm the devil's advocate in this case ;) Yeah, the book inspired the movie. I would have liked Wicked if it wasn't based in Oz. It'd be totally awesome to have bright green skin. (mwahaha)

Aha - so you liked The Time Traveler's Wife. I forgot to ask you how you liked it.

I am now a Vonnegutite. Voracious for Vonnegut, I say. I can't wait to get my copy of The Historian, too. I hear it's magnifique, and very unRice-ish in terms of vampires.
